I began my teaching career in St Helens, where I worked for seven years, as a teacher of English and French. Since 2000, I have worked across South Sefton in a variety of roles. I have been focused on literacy and teaching and learning in a number of roles and was appointed to Principal of King’s Leadership Academy Hawthornes in 2015.
My role is to ensure we have the infrastructure required for a successful school. As a King’s Leadership Academy, our curriculum has to have breadth and depth to allow every student to achieve. Our focus is on developing a curriculum of the highest quality as well as providing opportunities for personal development that allow our students to become the best version of themselves.
I feel strongly that every child is entitled to the best possible range of experiences at school and in life. We do this through building a strong school at the heart of our community, full of students with the character and skills to make a difference in society.
