I started working in IT in 2013, managing the IT systems at my mum’s plant and garden nursery. While doing that I got the opportunity to start an apprenticeship at Staffordshire University in IT systems. During this apprenticeship I worked for a large fraud prevention agency that worked with many big banks and government agencies. During this time, I gained a lot of technical knowledge and experience with more complex IT systems.
Following my apprenticeship, I began working at the Great Schools Trust in 2020, with Bolton being my base. I’ve learnt a lot from working as part of the IT team, and I really value the support given from other team members from around the Trust. I’m looking forward to continuing more training courses and improving my technical knowledge.
In 2021, I helped start the King’s Bolton PRIDE club, which has been growing each year since. It’s been really rewarding to see how the support and visibility we’re able to offer to the students has helped improve their time in school and outside as well. I’m very excited to see what else we can do with this group in the future.
