Daniel Cross

I was raised and educated in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. My career in professional sport ended before it began and I wanted to find a new profession where I could have the same passion - I found that in education. I moved to Liverpool in 2006 to attend Liverpool John Moores University, studying Physical Education, Sport and Dance. Following my degree, I secured a position at Shorefields Technology college as a PE teacher; this school was later renamed King's Leadership Academy Liverpool. Over my 14 years in education, my responsibilities have grown until reaching my current position as Principal of King's Leadership Phoenix Academy.

My original plan was never to become a principal, but when the opportunity presented itself to support some of the most vulnerable pupils in the city it aligned with my passion for having equality of opportunity for every young person, regardless of their background.

I have always had a lifelong interest in great leaders and their ability to make a real difference in people's lives. Here at KLPA we are supporting pupils academically but also developing their personal skills to create great leaders of tomorrow.
