Estates & Facilities Manager

I have been working at the Great Schools Trust for the past three years, starting out as Site Manager at King’s Bolton before progressing on to my current role as Facilities & Estates Manager.

After leaving my SEN school with minimal qualifications, I headed straight into employment and worked in a DIY shop for five years. I then went into security and worked for BAE Systems, who provide some of the world's most advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions. Following this, I secured a position at the BBC as National Control Room Officer, which involved overseeing national communications.

I then gained employment at a primary school within a Multi-Academy Trust and spent five years there as Site Manager, after which I began working at King’s Bolton.

Whilst progressing through my career, I have gained a wealth of valuable experience as well as a range of IOSH and Health & Safety qualifications. Despite leaving school with very few qualifications, I feel my hard work and determination have led me to achieving the successful career I have today.

In terms of my current role, I am responsible for managing projects and risks, liaising with contractors, maintaining the running of each academy, and monitoring general health and safety standards across the trust. I am here to support all the site teams across the trust, and I enjoy contributing to the smooth running of the trust as a whole. Looking to the future, I am keen to continue building experience and making progress within my career at the Great Schools Trust.
