Over 200 school leaders, teachers and support staff from across the country gathered at the King’s Leadership Academy Warrington to discuss how AI is revolutionising education.
The Great Schools Trust, led by Chief Executive Shane Ierston and Head of AI Benjamin Barker, has been at the forefront of developing AI tools to empower staff and students. It organised the conference to share knowledge and offer advice from AI experts.
Keynote and breakout sessions gave delegates practical insights into improving teacher workload, using AI effectively in the classroom, while also considering ethical questions of the AI’s role in learning.
The conference was also an opportunity for Benjamin Barker to launch ‘CredimusAI’ which is the new AI tool developed by the Trust.
Designed to ease teacher marking and assessment workloads, it will be available in the New Year and be free of charge to any school or Trust that wants to give staff time back to focus on what’s most important—the students.
Benjamin Barker said, “Generative AI is already having an impact in education and its importance will continue to grow. We are already seeing it automate many time-consuming tasks, provide insightful data, and simplify communication, and we are only at the start of this journey. This is an essential part in making the teaching’s daily challenges of more manageable and efficient.
“The conference was organised because at the Great Schools Trust we believe in the open nature of generative AI and that it is important for everyone within the sector to have knowledge and understanding of AI so that it potential can be harnessed for teachers and students alike.”
