Cadets from across the Trust marked Remembrance Day by hosting and attending services to honour those who made sacrifices for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Royal Marine Cadets from King’s Leadership Academy Bolton had the honour of participating in the Remembrance Day service in Bolton centre on Sunday 11th November. The poignant event saw two of our cadets lay a wreath at Bolton’s International Workers Memorial, while another stood vigil, representing the Royal Marine Combined Cadet Force with pride, integrity, and professionalism. Following this, the cadets also attended the service at Bolton’s Artillery War Memorial, further honouring those who have served.
Meanwhile, in King’s Leadership Academy Warrington the students in their Combined Cadet Force led the Remembrance Day commemorations on Monday 12th November. Student Prime Minister David Bowden read the exhortation and Deputy Prime Minister Hannah Bate read the final line before the Combined Cadet Force were dismissed and returned to lessons.
Furthermore, CCF students worked during break and lunchtimes to give staff and students the opportunity to donate to the Poppy Appeal and display their support for this cause by wearing a poppy on their clothes in the run up to Remembrance Day.
The importance of involving young people in Remembrance Day cannot be overstated. It helps to instil values of respect, responsibility, and gratitude in our students. These experiences are crucial in shaping our students into becoming future leaders.
Lest We Forget.
